Home base
Most calls come from Hemet itself: Florida Avenue and State Street, the neighborhoods off Sanderson and Stetson, the newer tracts in West Hemet, and the older streets near downtown and the Ramona Bowl. Hemet also has many mobile home parks and senior communities, where a car may have sat since its owner stopped driving. Lanes there are narrow and entries are often gated, so give the park name and space number when you call.
North across the valley
San Jacinto sits on the north side of the valley, across the San Jacinto River from Hemet. Pickups run along Ramona Expressway and Soboba Road, through the streets around the Mt. San Jacinto College campus, and out to the ranch lots toward the foothills. A car on a dirt parcel is easier to load when the ground is dry, so say so if recent rain has left it soft.
East on Florida Avenue (SR-74)
Valle Vista is east of Hemet along Florida Avenue, where SR-74 starts climbing toward the mountains. Lots get bigger and driveways get longer and steeper the farther east you go. A flatbed can usually reach a car parked near the road, while one at the top of a steep or gravel drive may need to be winched down, so describe the driveway on the call.
South-east side of the valley
East Hemet covers the unincorporated streets on the south-east side of the valley, south of Florida Avenue and toward the hills. The parcels mix houses with small ranches, and a junk car here often sits behind a gate or out back by a shed. Have the gate open or the code ready, and mention if the car is behind the house rather than in front of it.
South on Winchester Road (SR-79)
Winchester is south of Hemet on Winchester Road (SR-79), near Domenigoni Parkway and Diamond Valley Lake. New tracts sit next to older farm parcels. In the newer neighborhoods, HOA rules sometimes limit how long a non-running car can stay in a driveway, which is a common reason to sell. Mention any HOA deadline so the pickup window can be planned around it.
West on SR-74 toward Perris
Homeland lies west of Hemet on SR-74, on the way to Perris. Many lots are an acre or more, and some cars have sat in the weeds long enough for the tires to sink into the dirt. A car on soft ground or tangled in brush takes longer to free, so say what is around it. Clearing dry brush before fire season is another reason people call, since a dead car parked in tall grass is in the way.
South-west by Domenigoni Parkway and I-215
Menifee is south-west of Hemet, reached by Domenigoni Parkway or Newport Road, with I-215 running through the middle of the city. It mixes newer subdivisions with older neighborhoods such as Sun City. Driveway and garage pickups in the newer tracts are the simplest kind: if the car rolls, it comes out and goes straight up onto the flatbed.
